Early this morning, the IDF launched an operation to root out Hamas terrorists hiding and operating inside the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Israeli intelligence confirmed that Hamas officials were using the medical facility to plan and carry out terror attacks.
During the raid, Hamas terrorists opened fire on IDF troops from within the hospital compound. Israeli troops returned fire and killed numerous Hamas operatives, including senior Hamas commander Faiq Mabhouh, who was armed and hiding inside the complex to carry out terror attacks.
20 Hamas terrorists were eliminated inside the hospital, with another 20 killed by the IDF nearby and many others arrested by the IDF for interrogation.
Today’s operation further underscores Hamas’ despicable strategy of deliberately hiding behind Gaza’s civilians as cover for its terrorism.
White House: "Justice will come" to Hamas leaders in hiding
Today, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed reports that Hamas’ number three official – Marwan Issa – was killed by the IDF last week.
"The rest of the top leaders are in hiding, likely deep in the Hamas tunnel network, and justice will come for them too. We are helping to ensure that," Sullivan said.
Sullivan also emphasized that the onus is on Hamas to end this war by surrendering and freeing the hostages.
"Hamas could of course end this crisis tomorrow if it chose to do so. And as I’ve said before, far too little of the energy and the pressure to end this conflict has been applied to Hamas."
PM Netanyahu speaks with President Biden and AIPAC
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with President Biden today to discuss "the latest developments in Israel and Gaza, including the situation in Rafah and efforts to surge humanitarian assistance to Gaza," according to the White House.
"We discussed the latest developments in the war, including Israel's commitment to achieving all of the war's goals: eliminating Hamas, freeing all of our hostages and ensuring that Gaza never gain constitutes a threat to Israel – while providing the necessary humanitarian aid that will assist in achieving these goals," Netanyahu said.
The prime minister also met with members of the AIPAC Board of Directors in Jerusalem. "We have to win this war. We have to stand together and win this war. We have to stand together here, and we have to stand together [in the United States]. Because it's the right thing to do. Because it's the necessary thing to do. Because it's the one thing that will assure the viability, future and security of the State of Israel."

Doron Steinbrecher turned 31 today. She has spent 164 days as a hostage of Hamas.
Doron Steinbrecher should have celebrated her 31st birthday today with family and friends. Instead, she spent her 164th day in captivity enduring unthinkable torture and trauma at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.
