Hi John,
If you've seen me on the campaign trail, you've probably heard me mention “shared prosperity” as one of the pillars of my campaign.
Now, the idea of prosperity is great, but what does it actually look like in practice? Let's explore this.
My vision of shared prosperity is simple yet profound: Everyone deserves to earn enough to afford a decent standard of living, support their family, and pave a smoother way for the next generation. It encompasses jobs that pay a good living wage, accessible childcare and preschool, compassionate care for our seniors, strong public schools, affordable housing, and universal health care for all. It's a future where organized labor thrives, and our tax system mandates fairness, rejecting a structure skewed in favor of corporations and billionaires.
Maybe this sounds like a lot to ask for in such divided political times, but I believe being a progressive Democrat in Congress today means more than seeking compromise. It means articulating a deep understanding of our vision and sharing it in ways that resonate across political divides. It means finding shared values, while also always remaining deeply rooted in our own. Our mission is more than making noise; it's about engaging, persuading, and delivering.
I believe we can make headway, even on the most partisan of issues. That's why I got into this race, and I know that when I'm elected your next representative for OR-03, we'll do exactly that. We can dismantle the barriers to prosperity and build a country that reflects the values we aspire to: equity, equality, justice, and opportunity for all.
If you'd like to join me and support our Shared Prosperity platform, let me know by signing your name to be an official citizen co-sponsor. [[link removed]]
