We’ve known it for a while now. It started back in 2016. The slow, painful death of the Republican Party that we used to know. The one that was willing to compromise. The one that backed Ronald Reagan, John McCain, and Abraham Lincoln. That party doesn’t exist anymore, and we need to accept it.

Closure is the key word here. It’s time to stop thinking that the Republican party will ever be what it once was, or that the few remaining conservatives can make a difference. Today, the party is dangerous. It led an insurrection, it’s backing a criminal for the Oval Office, it’s refusing to do anything while it’s in charge of the House, and depending on what happens in November, it could destroy America as we know it.
