Assalamu alaikum,
During this holy month of Ramadan, we pray for an unwavering faith and strengthened unity within your families and communities. We recognize the challenging circumstances faced by Muslims in America, particularly as they witness the horrific and heartbreaking genocide in Gaza. In these pivotal moments of history, the resonance of our voices becomes paramount. MPAC stands as a steadfast ally of 36 years, dedicated to amplifying your voice and ensuring our administration hears it. Our efforts are focused on advocating for justice and human rights, and safeguarding our freedoms amidst the drastic rise in anti-Muslim and anti-Arab animus.
Help us reach our $125,000 goal by investing in MPAC today! ([link removed])
At MPAC, we are dedicated to championing these vital policy shifts that often go unseen but leave an indelible mark on our communities. From the heart of Congress to the intimacy of our homes, the impact is profound, touching lives in ways we may not always recognize. Policy change carries the power to transform the lives of Muslims at home and abroad and we are at the forefront of institutions that increase influence as American Muslims.
Since last Ramadan, the Policy Bureau has worked tirelessly to ensure that American Muslims are represented and their concerns are heard on Capitol Hill and within the Biden Administration. Here are some of the highlights:
* Partnered with civil society coalitions to demand our elected officials call for an immediate ceasefire.
* Led a coalition on Capitol Hill to expedite the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
* Corrected narratives that enable negative stereotypes about Muslims and Islam by offering principled, powerful representation of our community on major media outlets.
* Highlighted issues impacting our community in relevant Congressional hearings to ensure your voices are heard on Capitol Hill. Most recently for a recent hearing we submitted questions for the official record on the McCarthyist environment facing university students who express their support for Palestine.
* Delivered recommendations to the Department of Education on how to ensure American Muslim students feel safe on college campuses.
* Interviewed U.S. Presidential candidates on issues that impact the American Muslim community and gauge their stance on Palestine.
* Presented South African Ambassador Ndumiso N. Ntshinga an award for South Africa’s unwavering support of the Palestinian people and to express our gratitude for their courageous stand at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
* Hosted a series of presentations on Capitol Hill that informed policymakers of the root causes of anti-Muslim animus and the need to include Muslim voices in shaping effective national security policies that safeguard our communities and address the deteriorating human rights conditions in India, particularly for religious minority communities.
The work of MPAC is instrumental in establishing the Islamic values of equity and justice for all in our society. Your support enables us to drive this crucial change forward. Let us #MarchForwardTogether to ensure that every decision made is one step closer to a brighter, more equitable future for all. The only way we can continue fighting injustice and bigotry is with your help. Together, we're not just witnessing change — we're actively shaping it.
