MEDIA ADVISORY: First Lady Cathy Justice and Governor Jim Justice to welcome the next therapy dog at Lewisburg Elementary School at 10:00 am tomorrow

WHO: First Lady Cathy Justice, Governor Jim Justice, Greenbrier County Schools Superintendent Jeff Bryant, Lewisburg Elementary School Principal Sara Bennett, Greenbrier County School Board President Jeanie Wyatt, Lewisburg Chief of Police Chris Teubert, Communities In Schools Director Brittany Masters, local officials.
WHAT: Introduction of Pixie, a female Labradoodle, who is the 22nd therapy dog to be placed as part of First Lady Cathy Justice's Friends With Paws initiative.
The Friends With Paws program is a partnership between the Governor’s Office, West Virginia Communities In Schools Nonprofit, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Therapy dogs will be placed in CIS program schools where students are disproportionately affected by poverty, substance misuse, or other at-risk situations, and are in the greatest need of a support animal. The dogs will serve as a healthy and friendly outlet for these students to address trauma and other social-emotional issues.
