John,

Remember former Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis? After losing to Donald Trump, he is back in his day-job as the Governor of Florida - and he has a new proposal to ban heat protections for outdoor workers.

Yep, that’s what he’s now focused on. Making it harder for outdoor workers to stay cool during the summer and avoid extreme temperatures.

Will you donate now to help our SEEC members fight back on the federal level to defend heat protections for hard working Americans? [[link removed]]

DEFEND HEAT PROTECTIONS FOR WORKERS » [[link removed] ]This industry-backed bill, favored by Republicans, isn’t just a threat to Floridians. The choices made at the state level often inspire and influence Congressional action, and we know Republicans get their ideas from red states like Florida and Texas.

If Ron DeSantis is successful and Republicans gain total control of Congress next year, the GOP could push for this on a national level.

Meanwhile, SEEC Members are fighting for national standards to protect workers from dangerous heat exposure. SEEC Members Reps. Judy Chu (CA), Bobby Scott (VA), and Raúl Grijalva introduced the Asunción Valdivia Heat Illness, Injury and Fatality Prevention Act to establish a permanent, federal standard to protect Americans from heat exposure.
