This violent and dangerous rhetoric came on the heels of his opening statements in which he called the January 6th Capitol rioters “hostages”—people who were found guilty of crimes ranging from violent assault and battery all the way to seditious conspiracy against America. He promised to pardon all January 6th offenders.
As if that wasn’t enough, Trump also doubled down on his prior white supremacist views that immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country” and said that “[i]n some cases they’re not people, in my opinion. But I’m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that’s a terrible thing to say.”
Saying that human beings are not people in front of an audience that cheers your lies and your urging for more violence is indeed a terrible and disturbing thing to say. This is the leader of the Republican Party.
Ohio has had enough of Trump’s violent hatred and division. The entire country has had enough—and now we need to work even harder to defeat every single one of Trump’s willing allies in Congress, including bootlickers like Bernie Moreno and Troy Balderson.
I need your help to defeat this toxic strain of MAGA hatred. Ohio is a purple state and will turn blue again if we invest the time, resources, and energy to winning. The Senate, Presidency, and a durable House majority is on the line right now—can you chip in $25 or more to help us win?
