John,
I have heard from people in Illinois and across the nation struggling to afford the life-saving prescription drugs they need. When we hear about Americans with diabetes rationing or going without their insulin, we know we have a real crisis in this country.
I’m working in the Senate to bring down the cost of prescription drugs for everyone. But in order to get this done, we need everyone speaking out and reminding our leaders why this issue is vital.
Share your story: How has the outrageous cost of prescriptions affected your family?
Big Pharma has been allowed to game the system for too long, keeping affordable generic alternatives off the market and charging Americans significantly more for drugs than those who live in other countries like Canada. And as they continue to hit patients with higher and higher costs they can’t afford, they are creating a crisis and putting peoples’ health and lives in danger.
It’s time for the Senate to stand with patients and ensure they can access affordable prescription drugs. You can help make it happen by sharing your story about how drug prices are impacting your family.
Tell me, John: What does the high cost of prescription drugs mean for you?
My best,
Dick Durbin
