I want to tell you about my friend, Anthony Daniels.

You might remember him, he's a good friend of One Country Project and the work we do fighting for rural communities. He's also the top Democrat in the Alabama House of Representatives.

A few weeks ago, the Alabama Supreme Court decided that from the moment of conception, an embryo has all the legal rights of a child. Nothing can describe the fallout of their decision better than this: instant chaos.

In vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics across Alabama shut down overnight.

Women who were set to have eggs harvested or embryos implanted were suddenly stuck. Unsure of when or if they would ever be able to become parents or grow their families. And it wasn't as "simple" as leaving the state either, because all transportation providers were too afraid to move the embryos to another clinic.

Alabama and the hard working families that call it home are in crisis.

But Anthony could not stand by and let this happen. He rushed to the legislature and just this week, passed legislation protecting access to IVF treatment in Alabama.

I am grateful that Alabamians have Anthony as a leader. If the fight to protect reproductive rights is important to you too, then please sign this thank you card and let Anthony know that we have his back in this fight! [[link removed]]
