In February, the Iowa House unanimously passed a bill that would expand disability coverage to cover all cancers for firefighters.

But GOP Sen. Jason Schultz chose not to move it forward onto the Senate floor.

John, this is yet another example of how our MAGA–led state government continues to betray working Iowans. Will you make a donation to support more pro–working class progressives so that we can flip the majority and end this status quo of negligence?

John, Iowa’s Republican Senators continue to drop the ball, and working Iowans are the ones being hurt. 

Despite the inherent dangers of the job, studies in recent years have found that cancer is the leading cause of death for firefighters. 

Regular exposure to hazardous chemical substances and carcinogens means that firefighters are at a higher risk of developing certain types of cancers when compared to the general population.  

When our firefighters risk their lives everyday to save Iowans, it’s only right that our state takes care of them in return.

In order to re-prioritize constituents in our state government, we need to flip 10 Senate seats by 2030 – and, John, we are *so* close. Can we count on you to help us do that by making a donation of $25 or more today to help us elect more pro–working class decision–makers?
