NCUA outlines priorities for exams [ [link removed] ]
The NCUA, in a Letter to Credit Unions released Monday, outlined its priorities for examinations during the coronavirus pandemic. The agency had previously mandated an offsite policy for staff and said exams would take place offsite through May 1; the policy will remain in effect until further notice.
NAFCU calls on Treasury to ensure CUs can meet small biz lending needs [ [link removed] ]
Following enactment of the Phase 3 coronavirus relief package, which includes a new Small Business Administration (SBA) paycheck protection program, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger urged Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to expeditiously publish guidance related to this program and ensure that all federally-insured credit unions (FICUs) are able to act as lenders under it.

In a new NAFCU Compliance Blog post, Vice President of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere explains how the Emergency Paid Leave Act and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act – enacted earlier this month as part of the Phase 2 coronavirus relief package – could impact credit unions. The provisions are set to take effect tomorrow and expire Dec. 31.

Following the NCUA's proposal to amend the agency's corporate credit union rules, NAFCU is seeking member credit union feedback on how the changes would impact operations. Credit unions can submit comments through NAFCU's Regulatory Alert until May 5; comments are due to the NCUA May 26.
