WOW, Angus has been busy this month! Between gathering petitions to get on the ballot and breaking (blueberry) bread with Maine folks visiting D.C., he’s also been deep in the weeds on policy.
It’s helpful that talking with neighbors is exactly what Angus needs to do his work well – an approach he refers to as “eloquent listening.” Step 1: he listens to our stories. Step 2: he rolls up his sleeves and gets it done.
Here are just a few things Angus has been working on this month based on the stories he’s heard from Maine families:
 *
   DO
   NOT
   Call
   Act
   :
   Angus
   has
   signed
   onto
   legislation
   to
   crack
   down
   on
   those
   pesky
   robocalls.
   In
   his
   words:
   “At
   best,
   illegal
   robocalls
   are
   a
   major
   annoyance
   –
   at
   worst,
   they
   are
   scams
   that
   target
   our
   most
   vulnerable
   citizens.”
   We
   agree!
 *
   AM
   Radio
   for
   Every
   Vehicle
   Act
   :
   Automakers
   are
   starting
   to
   remove
   AM
   radios
   from
   new
   vehicles,
   but
   these
   radios
   are
   critical
   for
   rural
   Maine
   families
   who
   rely
   on
   them
   for
   weather,
   news,
   and
   emergency
   alerts.
   Angus
   has
   joined
   bipartisan
   legislation
   to
   require
   automakers
   to
   continue
   providing
   AM
   radio
   in
   new
   cars
   as
   a
   standard
   feature.
 *
   HELPER
   Act
   :
   Angus
   is
   co-sponsoring
   new
   legislation
   to
   combat
   the
   affordable
   housing
   crisis
   and
   make
   home
   ownership
   a
   possibility
   for
   those
   in
   public
   service
   careers.
   The
   proposed
   home
   loan
   assistance
   program
   would
   help
   our
   first
   responders
   and
   teachers
   buy
   homes
   with
   zero
   down
   payment
   so
   they
   can
   live
   in
   the
   communities
   they
   serve!
John, these are the types of real results we get when we send an Independent leader to the U.S. Senate who loves Maine and fixing things. Despite whatever chaos, partisanship, and extremism might be happening in Congress, we can count on Angus to keep fighting for us.
John, while Angus is advocating for us in the U.S. Senate, he needs us to be advocating for him here at home since he’s up for re-election! This month Angus is facing his first FEC End-of-Quarter Deadline of 2024 and to hit his goal, he needs your help. Can you chip in $ or $ today to help re-elect our Maine champion? [[link removed]]

Thank you for having Angus’ back!

There is nothing more important to Senator King than doing right by the people of Maine. This means fighting on their behalf for the issues that matter most, whether that’s health care, national security, veterans, education, economic certainty, the environment or job creation. Throughout his decades of public service, he has worked tirelessly to build relationships and improve opportunities for all Maine people, from Kittery to Fort Kent.
