John,
There is potentially good news on the horizon – our leaders have finalized a stimulus package, and that means you may soon be getting a check in the mail. Uncle Sam will be sending checks to help offset financial hardships caused by the coronavirus within a few weeks.
I am thankful this news brings hope versus more worry in this bewildering time. But for many survivors, it is a hope deferred because their need is great—
right now.
We know them. You know them too. They are suffering more than we are. Loss of income, fear, isolation, loss of control—all things that remind her of her days in “the life”—the days when someone else controlled her and sold her body. She is finally just getting her feet on the ground and
now … this! And we recognize that their pimp could be the first to reach them; to take advantage of the crisis, to reach out to them with a promise of safety, with a warm meal, a place to stay, a place to belong...
BUT WE CAN’T AND WON’T DESERT THEM NOW! Donations have slowed and are drying up in this time of national crisis. It is true we are feeling the impact.
But Shared Hope has pledged to step out in faith today to provide financial relief to the women and youth in our circle of care—those who need help immediately.
Will you step into this with us?
And as stimulus checks are set to arrive in mailboxes like yours, please join me in sharing the blessing of that too if you are able.
Any gift you send to Shared Hope for this purpose will go directly to meet the need of survivors in extraordinary need right now.
Thank you for stepping out in faith with us. We are praying for you and are thankful for you.
