TAKE ACTION: BECOME A REFORMER
[link removed]

Dear Friend,

I know you’ve already heard from me a few times over the past week, but I’m reaching out again because it’s important.

Oregon’s latest bill to recriminalize drugs won’t go into effect until September 1st, but we can’t let this moment empower lawmakers to see disinformation and say, “See, it failed in Oregon, why would it work anywhere else?”

Now is the time that we MUST push back against this false narrative. And we need your help.

Please, if you’re able, join the Reformers Club by making your first monthly gift today. Your steady support will help change peoples’ lives. It will sustain our long-term fight to end drug criminalization, repair the harms of failed drug war policies, and build a world that embraces the full humanity of people, regardless of their relationship to drugs.

TAKE ACTION: BECOME A REFORMER

We know that recriminalization will disproportionately impact the people who are already the most vulnerable. Most people who will be arrested are experiencing homelessness and poverty. They won’t be connected to the housing services they most desperately need. Instead, they will enter a long cycle of arrest and release back to the street.

Friend, we need you to take action to help turn the tide, reduce harm, and advance drug policies rooted in compassion in Oregon and across the country.

Sadly, this is not the first time that elected officials have chosen political convenience over real solutions—and it won’t be the last. Nationwide, we are seeing criminal justice reforms like drug decriminalization come under attack by well-funded special interests—and these attacks will only ramp up during this election year.

That’s why we must be prepared to respond.

By making your first monthly contribution today, you will help us remain adaptable and responsive during a critical moment for the reform movement.

Friend, with sustained support from advocates like you, we can continue the long fight ahead – advocating for nationwide drug decriminalization to end policies that target our communities; create barriers to jobs, housing, and education; separate families; and ruin lives.

I hope you will take action and join our Reformers Club with a monthly gift today.
