Ottawa County Unemployment Rate for 2023 and January 2024

Ottawa County?s annual unemployment rate for 2023 was 3.0%. This rate, recently released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, shows a decrease in unemployment in Ottawa County from 2022?s rate of 3.3%.

Also released were the preliminary unemployment rates for January 2024. Ottawa County?s unemployment rate for January measured 2.9%. This rate is the lowest in the state of Michigan in January, with Kent County, Livingston County, and Washtenaw County also having an unemployment rate of 2.9%. The highest rate in the state is 17.0% in Mackinac County.
