I’ve held many titles throughout my life.

CEO. Congresswoman. Democratic House Party Chair. But I’m also a mom.

I feel a responsibility to my children – and every child in this country – to make sure I leave them a better country and a better world than the one I grew up in.

But today, right-wing extremists in Congress are more interested in pushing political agendas than protecting our freedoms or helping working families.

And frankly, I refuse to sit by and do nothing knowing that teachers across the country are afraid they’ll be politically blacklisted for what they say in the classroom.

I refuse to sit by while hardworking parents are struggling to find affordable housing and childcare.

I refuse to sit by while women have to worry that one of their most fundamental rights – how, when, and whether to have a family – will be stripped from them entirely.
