My name is Rhonda Cohen. I have been a long-time activist, supporting Democratic candidates nationwide.

I met Congressman Ruben Gallego two summers ago and he filled me in on a brief history of the Arizona Democratic Party, explaining a clear path to victory if someone were to run against Kyrsten Sinema.

At that time, I began a modest monthly donation to support Ruben’s efforts, hoping he might someday be the one to run for Kyrsten's seat.

The day that Kyrsten Sinema dropped out of the Senate race in Arizona, the first thing I did was increase my monthly donation to Ruben.

Elections in 2020 and 2022 have shown that Democrats can win statewide in Arizona. The differences between Ruben and his Republican opponent Kari Lake couldn’t be clearer:

Ruben is a combat veteran who has a long history of defending democracy and fighting for working families. He is committed to reforming the filibuster to protect a woman’s right to reproductive freedom and to expand voting rights.

Kari Lake, a right-wing extremist and Trump sycophant, on the other hand supports a near total abortion ban. She is an election denier who still refuses to accept her own defeat in 2022.

Our democracy hangs in the balance. If Ruben wins in Arizona, Democrats are much more likely to keep control of the Senate and the White House.
