My colleagues in the House of Representatives are again pushing to send billions of taxpayer dollars to Israel’s military as it commits genocide. Meanwhile, many of our communities in the U.S. still don't have clean water, most families are living paycheck to paycheck, and everyday people can’t afford healthcare or housing.

The American people are demanding their representatives stop investing in war and instead invest in our communities. I agree: Serving my community is why I ran for office.

I just secured over $17 million in federal funding for 15 community projects in my district, marking over $52 million in community project funding over the last three years.

This year’s investments will help get the lead out of our pipes, provide affordable housing and home repairs, support storm recovery and decrease pollution, help build new centers for seniors and workforce development, and more.

My team and I also just hosted a community town hall and constituent services fair, where we helped residents one on one and connected them to the resources they need.

To regularly support constituents with everyday challenges as they navigate federal bureaucracy—such as college debt, veterans’ services, immigration issues, and Social Security benefits—my team runs multiple Neighborhood Service Centers throughout our district.

We all deserve elected leaders who fight for their constituents’ needs and who act as public servants. We all deserve thriving communities where everyone feels safe and has their needs met.

That’s why I created the Rooted in Community PAC: to train and support grassroots activists, candidates, and groups that are focused on meeting their communities’ needs. During 2022’s election year, we ran free trainings for community organizers and candidates and we donated more than $128,000 to progressive candidates and organizations.

This critical election year, we’re supporting movement groups and candidates in my home state of Michigan and across the country.
