Survival Sunday: March 17, 2024

Happy weekend, friends!

Survival Sunday is a personal note and a round-up of the week's news
and resources for folks who are interested in being prepared. This
curated collection of information is only available to email and Patreon

A PERSONAL NOTE

 

This week, I got some great news. After having exhausted all other
options to heal the torn tendon in my ankle, I met with a surgeon. He
has a very optimistic outlook about the outcome and so I've scheduled
the operation on my ankle for mid-April. I'll let you all know the week
before - I probably won't be online for a few days afterward.

It's a lengthy recovery, but afterward, I will very hopefully be able to
walk again without excruciating pain.

It looks like I'll be able to attend Prepper Camp in September, and I
have a travel goal for the end of the year: visiting my oldest daughter
in British Columbia. She lives in the middle of a forest with tons of
glorious hiking, including some more gentle trails. I practically
salivate over the gorgeous photos she's sent since being there. I so
look forward to being out in the woods again one of these days.

The next few weeks will be spent making food that can easily be
reheated, spring cleaning, decluttering, and making as much space as
possible for getting around on a knee scooter. Part of me wishes it was
happening tomorrow so I could just get it over with, but there is a lot
to do to prepare.

I've worked hard to have a good attitude about all of this, but I can
tell you one thing: I'll never take mobility for granted again.

encouraging. I'm so glad you like Grace's story. I truly believe that
you don't have to be a former military/ninja/MMA fighter to be a bad a**
and I love having an older woman be the heroine. I've always believed
that being underestimated can be a tremendous advantage. Anyway, thank
you so very much for your support while writing this piece of fiction!
