Beers on the Frontier: An Oregon Trail Journey

Step back in time and relive the nostalgia of the Oregon Trail at our 21+ happy hour. Join us for a night of immersive history, Blue Raven Brewery beer, and delectable comfort foods from Mad Flavors Food Truck. Your evening of adventure and survival will begin by choosing your Oregon Trail occupation, just like in the iconic computer game. From bison hunting to creating art, tasting hard tack, and carving your name into a monument, you?ll experience the highs and lows of the Oregon Trail firsthand. Some will live, some will die, but all will enjoy a night of socializing, learning, and adventure? for free!?
- Engage with experts from Wyoming State Parks, National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, Ft Laramie National Historic Site, and Wyoming Department of Health.?
- Test your survival skills in our "Journey Along the Trail" game guided by our Curator of Education.?
- Make a shade silhouette portrait or try your hand at embroidery.?
- Create lasting memories with our trail-themed photo booth.

Oh the places you will go!
How much do you know about the landscapes and animals around you? Learn all about the wide world through crafts, playing games, and more as you travel through the museum. Partners from Wyoming State Parks, the Draper Museum Raptor Center, Wyoming Outdoor Recreation, and Wyoming Game & Fish will share their expertise on the great outdoors through a variety of activities and educational stations.

This month?s Sponsor Spotlight is for Smile Doctors of Cheyenne! We've been lucky to receive event sponsorships from them since 2021, and we look forward to continuing this amazing partnership for years to come.
It all started in October, 2021, when Smile Doctors agreed to support our annual Halloween at the Museum event! While we enjoy handing out trick-or-treat candy to over 1000 kids one day a year, Smile Doctors enjoys keeping those little mouths clean and healthy for the other 364 days.?

Then, in 2022, Smile Doctors was quick to sign on to help out with another event, one that we had never done before. We wanted to host an event for grown ups, where people could come without the kids to enjoy beer, wine, and tons of learning opportunities. Why? Because it was Yellowstone's 250th Birthday! Despite never hosting such an event, and having no idea how many people would come, Smile Doctors immediately wanted to help out. Not only did they sponsor the event so we could have party decorations, event supplies, and free snacks and drinks, but they also showed up to volunteer at our "Smile Station" photo booth.?
Smile Doctors has gone above and beyond for use year after year. We can always count on them to enthusiastically support our biggest and wildest events, and we have a really fun time in the process.?
