John,

Next week House Republicans will attempt to remove one of the most crucial
clean energy initiatives to date. We urgently need your support to protect
this essential program.

[ [link removed] ]Tell Congress: Protect GGRF!

What’s Happening: The House is threatening to do away with the Greenhouse
Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) and the Methane Emissions Reduction Program
(MERP), all while Congress is nearing a partial government shutdown on
March 22nd.

What is the GGRF: Communities urgently need climate solutions, but too
often they don’t have a way to pay for them — especially in low-income
communities and communities of color which are most impacted. That's where
the GGRF comes in: it increases access to financing for clean energy
projects, empowering communities to decide what solutions they need, fund
green projects, and create good-paying green jobs.

Why is this Important: Solving the climate crisis will take trillions of
dollars, and while the $369 billion IRA is a solid start, we still have a
long way to go. The GGRF will transform the initial $27 billion government
grant into over $250 billion combined public and private investment over
the next 10 years. This is a financially smart way to create more green
jobs and build a booming green economy, all while protecting our most
vulnerable communities from pollution and narrowing the Black and Brown
wealth gap.

What’s at risk: Losing the GGRF means forfeiting a historic opportunity to
create environmental and economic benefits for communities across the U.S.
We can't let this happen!

How you can help: Next week, Dream.Org staff, community leaders, and
members like you will be meeting with elected officials in Washington,
D.C. We want to deliver thousands of signatures to offices demonstrating
that we want funding for our communities, not polluters.

[ [link removed] ]Take action NOW! Please urge Congress not to overlook these benefits
and to safeguard the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund before it's too late.

Your voice matters, and we’re thankful for your unwavering support in this
crucial moment.

In solidarity,
— Dream.Org
