It didn't take long for CNN to start attacking me. The dysfunctional media is trying to create "gotcha moments" out of old comments taken out of context, made in jest, or never made in the first place.

They've done it to President Trump and Lt. Governor Mark Robinson for years.

Looks like I'm the next Republican on the target list.

But it won't work.

During my campaign, I've pointed out that:

• North Carolina has 800 failing schools and no plan for fixing them.

• Just 25% of students in 8th grade are proficient in reading, math, and science.

• Millions of taxpayer dollars meant for education have been misappropriated or squandered instead of helping students.

These issues matter more to voters than overdramatized gotcha moments ginned up by the media!!
