Last week, one of First Lady Jill Biden’s guests at the State of the Union was Kate Cox, who recently fought to have her preborn baby killed after she received a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 18. 

Kate Cox’s baby was denied even a chance at life outside the womb, and it’s being celebrated across the country by pro-abortion activists. 

While this tragic story of abortion is being held on a pedestal, I want you to hear a different Trisomy 18 story - one that will surely make your heart expand as it did mine. 

Jessica Morales and her husband have a three-year-old son, affectionately known as Andy. 

Andy has Trisomy 18. Yet, he is alive, he is loved, he is three, and he is thriving.

Andy’s presence is a beautiful example of how life is more powerful than death, and love is more powerful than fear. Disabilities do not define worth. 

Think about this in contrast with Kate Cox’s baby who was intentionally killed for the crime of being sick.

When presented with difficulties, we have a choice. Are we going to let the hardship unveil unexpected joy? Will we let our hearts grow through the service of another?
