Dear John,

It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting
for our conservative values.

This week, I joined a bipartisan group of lawmakers in voting for a bill that
would force Bytedance, the owner of TikTok, to sell the app or face a ban on
its use in the United States. TikTok is nothing more than a Trojan Horse for
data theft that operates under the thumb of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Despite claims from senior leadership, TikTok willingly handed over information
on pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong and shared the data of American users
with Beijing. It’s also a propaganda tool that allows the CCP prized access to
the screens of millions of young, impressionable Americans. Allowing a
CCP-owned TikTok to flourish is the equivalent of keeping the fox in the hen
house. For the sake of our data rights, national security, and the welfare of
our children, it’s time we flushed it out.

I am outraged by the actions of far-left DFL Hennepin County Attorney Mary
Moriarty in the case of Trooper Ryan Londregan. Trooper Londregan, who is
currently facing charges for a July 2023 incident, acted lawfully to save his
partner's life, according to a use-of-force expert. While initially seeking the
opinion of the expert, Moriarty chose to ignore this evidence and press charges
against him, including second-degree unintentional murder. These charges reveal
that politics interfered with her judgment, leading to a clear abuse of power
and a disregard for the principles of justice. I joined my colleagues in
calling for Mary Moriarty's immediate resignation.

Attorney General Merrick Garland's claim that voter ID laws are "unnecessary"
and "burdensome" is absurd. Voter ID is a commonsense measure that ensures
election integrity and increases voter confidence. The American Confidence in
Elections Act, which I wholeheartedly support, seeks to strengthen our
electoral system by simply requiring an ID to vote. Garland's claim that voter
ID laws violate voting rights is political spin and completely baseless. The
fact of the matter is that requiring an ID is the simplest way to make voting
easier while also making it difficult to cheat.

As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!

With gratitude,
