Upon release of the report, Rep. Loudermilk released the following statement:

"For nearly two years former Speaker Nancy Pelosi's January 6th Select Committee promoted hearsay and cherry-picked information to promote its political goal – to legislatively prosecute former President Donald Trump,"
said Rep. Loudermilk. "It was no surprise that the Select Committee’s final report focused primarily on former President Trump and his supporters, not the security failures and reforms needed to ensure the United States Capitol is safer today than in 2021.

"The American people deserve the entire truth about what caused the violent breach at the United States Capitol of January 6, 2021. It is unfortunate the Select Committee succumbed to their political inclinations and chased false narratives instead of providing the important work of a genuine investigation. In my committee’s investigation, it is my objective to uncover the facts about January 6, without political bias or spin. My report today is just the beginning."

Rep. Loudermilk Cosponsors Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act to Stop Unconstitutional Tracking of Gun Sales

This week, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) joined Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Andy Barr (R-KY) as a co-sponsor of H.R. 7450, the Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act to ban the use of a Merchant Category Code (MCC) to track sales at gun stores.

MCCs are created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) based in Geneva, Switzerland. The MCC for firearm retailers was created in late 2022 at the behest of Amalgamated Bank, a left wing political activist group. Prior to 2022,  the MCC used by firearms retailers was either “Sporting Goods” or “Miscellaneous” meaning that if you bought a gun from a gun store, it would show up the same as if you had bought an expensive tent from an outfitter. The new code differentiates the two, making it easier to surveil consumer firearm purchases.

Following backlash from state and federal lawmakers, all three major card networks have paused their adoption of the firearm-specific MCC.

In the News: Exclusive: Liz Cheney, January 6 Committee Suppressed Exonerating Evidence Of Trump’s Push For National Guard

The Federalist:

Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s January 6 Committee suppressed evidence that President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital, a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist shows.

Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had “no evidence” to support Trump officials’ claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops. In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now.

Those documents support the committee’s narrative rather than the truth of the events leading up to January 6, 2021, said Rep. Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight.

The former J6 Select Committee apparently withheld Mr. Ornato’s critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicted their pre-determined narrative. Mr. Ornato’s testimony proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along: President Trump did in fact offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol, which was turned down,” said the Georgia Republican.

This is just one example of important information the former Select Committee hid from the public because it contradicted what they wanted the American people to believe,” Loudermilk said. “And this is exactly why my investigation is committed to uncovering all the facts, no matter the outcome.”

In the News: House GOP report alleges Jan 6 committee 'deleted records and hid evidence'

Fox News:

House Republicans released a report claiming the Jan. 6 select committee "deleted" records and hired "Hollywood producers" to promote a political narrative while investigating the circumstances surrounding supporters of former President Donald Trump breaching the Capitol in 2021.

"For nearly two years, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi's January 6th Select Committee promoted hearsay and cherry-picked information to promote its political goal – to legislatively prosecute former President Donald Trump," Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., chairman of the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight, said in a statement accompanied by his "Initial Findings Report" on Monday.

"It was no surprise that the Select Committee’s final report focused primarily on former President Trump and his supporters, not the security failures and reforms needed to ensure the United States Capitol is safer today than in 2021."'

In the News: Jan. 6 pipe bomb mystery at center of House hearing Tuesday

Washington Examiner:

Pipe bomb experts are heading to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to testify on law enforcement’s response to explosive devices left outside the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee on Jan. 6, 2021, with several expected to note that investigations “take time” and are “not like TV shows.”

The testimonies on Tuesday are part of a larger investigation by House Republicans into the riots at the Capitol on Jan. 6, particularly as the people responsible for placing the pipe bombs outside the national committees have not been caught after three years and the FBI offering a $500,000 reward.

The House Administration Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has been spearheading the investigation into Jan. 6, including challenging accounts of the riots and findings from the Democratic-led select committee on Jan. 6. Tuesday’s hearing is titled “Three Years Later: Assessing the Law Enforcement Response to Multiple Pipe Bombs on January 6, 2021.”

In the News: Key House lawmaker says he may make referrals for obstruction, ethics against Dem J6 panel

Just The News:

The House Republican leading the current review of security and intelligence failures during the 2021 Capitol riot put former lawmakers and staff on the now-defunct Democrat-run Jan. 6 committee on notice Wednesday that he may make referrals for criminal obstruction or House ethics violations.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga,, the chairman of the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee, told Just the News he is frustrated that videotapes of interviews, transcripts and other evidence that Congress gathered under the prior Jan. 6 inquiry run by Democrats was deleted, destroyed, moved to other federal agencies or locked behind passwords that have not been recovered, and he believes some form of accountability is warranted.

As far as holding people accountable, yes, they should be,” Loudermilk said during an interview with Just the News, No Noise television show. “But I think that's going to be a little ways down the road, because there is so much more information that we need to get. And we need to build not only this, to get the truth out to the American people, but see just how big this case potentially is for obstructing.”
