I’ve been a Green Party member since 2019, when I realised I needed to do something proactive about the climate crisis.
Now at the end of the day, when I feel negative about what’s in the news I know that I’ve done something, that I’ve done my bit. |

I've been volunteering at Ellie Chowns' Action Weekends in North Herefordshire, and I've found it so rewarding. I live in Leicester, and we all know what the public transport is like at weekends, so I tend to drive there - but that does incentivise me to recruit a full car of volunteers to bring along!
Action Weekends are so much fun. I’ve really loved meeting other Green volunteers from across the country and helping our inspiring parliamentary candidates. The doorstep conversations are really positive, and you really don’t need to worry about questions about policy or the local area - if they do come up you just make a note and pass it on!
You get all the training and support you need from the team, and there's always an amazing lunch too!
I feel so hopeful this year. It's our chance to make a difference to the next government, and I know these fun weekends will help us elect the next generation of Green MPs.
