When it comes to campaigning, our motto has always been to focus on our record, and not give opponents any free publicity. But it's official:
Just before the deadline, a former investment banker that lives in a multi-million dollar home outside of Alexandria’s district has launched his campaign to unseat her.
Alexandria’s primary is in 3 months. We need to be ready to fight back against our new opponent’s mailers, commercials, and whatever else he’ll throw at us.
We need your help to prepare for those attacks.
Alexandria’s opponent popped up only this week because of New York’s congressional redistricting process. He had previously filed paperwork to challenge Jamaal Bowman in the Democratic primary — but after the redistricting process was finalized, he switched to target Alexandria instead.
Our challenger may entirely self-fund his campaign — or simply reach out for support from AIPAC or any of the special interests pouring hundreds of millions into this election to unseat the Squad and Alexandria.
Many progressives have been defeated over these last few years because they were heavily outspent. We can’t let that happen to Alexandria.
Alexandria doesn’t host fancy cocktail fundraisers asking wealthy donors for big checks — she relies only on our grassroots movement.
