Friend,
Jill Stein just finished up a
whirlwind cross-country tour that took her to 14 states in 3 weeks.
And after meeting many of you on the campaign trail,
Jill is extremely excited that the nationwide uprising
against the parties of war and Wall Street is growing.
Here are some highlights from the
second half of Jill’s barnstorming trip:
After an Ohio visit that included a
powerful town hall with residents of East Palestine, on Monday March
4th Jill headed to Lexington, Kentucky, where she connected with
passionate student organizers at the University of Kentucky and got
extensive coverage from local press including the Kentucky Kernel and Paintsville Herald.
|
Next up was Pittsburgh, where Jill
joined a fiery anti-genocide protest, interviewed with NPR station
WESA, and met with local supporters organizing for a major ballot
access drive after the Pennsylvania Democratic Party led a coordinated
effort in 2020 to block the Green Party from the ballot.
Jill then headed to Fort Wayne,
Indiana, for a high-energy meetup with Indiana supporters powering up
to tackle possibly the most difficult ballot access challenge in the
country, needing 37,000 verified signatures. Despite the obstacles the
duopoly has created to suppress competition, in state after state Jill
found that our supporters are fired up to get a real
pro-worker, anti-war, climate action choice on the
ballot.

On Thursday March 7th, Jill headed to
Dearborn, Michigan, the city with the largest Muslim population per
capita in the US. The Dearborn community has been devastated by the
US-backed genocide in Gaza, and is now leading the charge to stop it,
including the huge “uncommitted” vote against Biden in Michigan’s
recent primary. Jill had a powerful conversation about joining
together to stop the genocide with Dearborn community members at the
Islamic House of Wisdom, which was covered by the Michigan Advance and Arab American News. |
After two incredible days making deep
connections and starting a new local campaign chapter in Dearborn,
Jill headed to her home state of Illinois and connected with
supporters at an overflowing Chicago house party. Like Ohio, Kentucky,
Pennsylvania, and Indiana, Illinois is gearing up for a major
ballot access drive critical to our 50-state
strategy. |
Next up was Wisconsin, where over two days
Jill held events in 3 cities and gave 8 interviews. After a busy
Monday of interviews and meeting with enthusiastic supporters in
Madison, she headed to Racine Tuesday for a dynamic and diverse panel
discussion on “Race and the Community”. Powerhouse community organizer Chester
Todd announced his Green campaign for Congress at the event, which
made front page news in the Racine Journal Times and Racine County Eye. |
That same day, Jill did two
interviews with Milwaukee TV stations, spoke to a reporter from a
major Danish newspaper, and joined supporters at a packed house party
in Milwaukee before heading to Minneapolis for a morning meeting with
local leaders of the Muslim community, and finally a flight back to
the East coast.
Amazingly, after 3 jam-packed weeks
on the road traveling thousands of miles to do dozens of events and
press appearances in 14 states, Jill is more fired up
now than ever.
Meeting with people like you across the country and
hearing your stories has deepened her commitment to the fight for
people, planet, and peace.
And she isn't slowing down: today
Jill is in New York City speaking at a vigil for Aaron Bushnell and rally against
genocide at the United Nations.
This is a grassroots campaign from
bottom to top, and Jill’s first major campaign tour couldn’t
have been such a success without our supporters -
you made it happen by donating, organizing, spreading the
word, and coming out to join us on the campaign trail.
Big things are happening on Jill’s campaign: we are extremely close to qualifying for
federal matching funds, and on track to win the Green Party nomination
and get on the ballot in every state. Thanks for everything you do to
support this inspiring movement for an America and a world that works
for all of us!
In solidarity and gratitude,
The Jill Stein 2024 team
