Here are some recent updates.

  • Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake and Arizona Senate candidate Mark Finchem, backed by the MyPillow guy Mike Lindell, appealed their lawsuit seeking to ban electronic voting machines to the U.S. Supreme Court. Lower courts dismissed the case, calling their claims "frivolous."

  • A federal court adopted new legislative districts in Washington state that fairly represent Latino voters after the previous map was struck down for violating the Voting Rights Act.

  • Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will stay on Trump and allies' election subversion case after special prosecutor Nathan Wade resigned. A judge ruled earlier today that Wade must withdraw from the case for Willis to remain.

Here’s what to expect coming up on Monday.

  • A New Jersey district court will hold an evidentiary hearing for a lawsuit filed by U.S. Senate candidate and current Rep. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) and two candidates in the 2024 U.S. House of Representatives elections against 19 county clerks challenging the ballot design used in New Jersey’s primary elections.

  • It’s an order day for the U.S. Supreme Court. We’re on the lookout for a congressional redistricting case in Arkansas.

    • On Tuesday, SCOTUS will release at least one decision in argued cases on. The nation’s highest court still needs to issue a ruling on South Carolina's congressional map, which a lower court struck down for racial gerrymandering.

A new episode of our podcast Defending Democracy is here! Republicans are promoting their “Bank Your Vote” program while they simultaneously attempt to roll back mail-in voting access in court. In today’s episode, Marc and Paige discuss how this could be a huge problem for the party. Listen on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts, or watch it on YouTube.
