It is the last weekend before Primary Election Day on March 19.  We encourage all Republicans to Bank Your Vote and vote early. You can still vote early in person till March 18. Early voting helps save costs for our Republican candidates, especially since our nominees will need resources and funds for the general election. Our Republican candidates need our most dependable Republican voters to vote early to help save money for their campaigns. Take the pledge to Bank Your Vote in the primary and general elections! 

 

Do you need to find your sample ballot? Contact your local election authority and you can find that information here. How can you help increase GOP turnout in the primary in what some expect will be low turnout? Forward this email to your networks and reinforce the importance of voting. Consistent, clear communication from a trusted source is the best way to increase turnout in a low election.

 

Here are five action items to consider for honest elections from our ILGOP Election Integrity Committee and our partners at the Illinois Conservative Union. 

  • Sign up to become an Election Judge with your local election authority for the general election or Poll Watcher with your local party for the primary and general election.
  • Prior to voting, go online to your local election authority’s website and confirm registration status. Make sure you’re registered and your information is correct. Doing this avoids problems when you go to vote. Resolve any issues before voting begins so you don’t have to re-register using Same-Day Registration.
  • Prior to voting, go to your local election authority’s website and download your sample ballot. Mark it with your preferred candidates. You are allowed to take that sample ballot with you into the voting booth. Your sample ballot will help you to know if an Election Judge hands you the wrong ballot.
  • Help friends, family, and loved ones complete Steps 2 & 3. Consider using the successful “claim your name, secure your vote” strategy used in Virginia in the November 2021 election: Request a Vote-by-Mail ballot early. Keep in mind that March 14 was the last day to request an application by mail. Once you receive your ballot, it must be postmarked by Election Day and received no later than 14 days after Election Day to be counted (April 2).
  • If desired, take your VBM ballot with you and go to vote in person as soon as in-person voting begins. Surrender your VBM ballot to the Election Judge at the polling location. Watch to be sure the Election Judge writes “SPOILED” on your VBM ballot and secures it in a “Spoiled Ballot” envelope. Next, vote in-person on a paper ballot that you can feed through the tabulator yourself.

You might ask why we were doing a fundraiser outside of Illinois. One of the most popular states for people leaving Illinois is Florida, which is also popular for Illinoisans who have a second home or former Illinois residents that now reside in Florida. In fact, Naples is so popular I think there was a Republican fundraiser almost every night there in March, which means there is a lot of competition for the Illinois ex-pat Naples dollar. Our sincere thanks to Governor Ron DeSantis who graciously agreed to help fundraise for the Illinois Republican Party and big thanks to RNC Committeeman Richard Porter for bringing a high-profile speaker. Tickets are selling fast, so RSVP today! 
 
 

We examined the voting records of all of the commissioned Republican election judges in the City of Chicago and in suburban Cook County. It is apparent that far too many Republican election judges actually have a history of voting in Democratic primaries. We simply must do a better job of filling our Republican election judge positions with actual Republicans. If we do not fill these positions, the Democrats will. I encourage any Republican who lives in Cook County to take the extra step in participating in the electoral process by becoming an election judge. We need you! Get Out The Vote 
 

The Parents Matter Coalition (PMC) was started by a group of Illinois parents concerned with protecting their children. As the state of Illinois continues to encroach upon parents’ right to be involved in their children’s lives – particularly within the context of major life-altering decisions such as abortion or gender modifying therapies and treatments – PMC came together to push back against the government’s interference in parent-child relationships. Together, the coalition introduced a ballot initiative (referred to as the ‘Right to Parent’ initiative) that poses a very simple question: should parental consent be required for any minor child to receive life-altering treatments? If the 500,000 signature minimum is met by April of 2024, this question will appear on the ballot of every voter in the state on Election Day. The Parents Rights Initiative is a signature petition drive to support a Ballot Advisory Question (BAQ) to collect 500,000 signatures to secure a place on the November 2024 General Election Ballot. We will do this when we engage 50,000 volunteer circulators from around the state representing a multitude of organizations all committed to a parent’s right to parent their minor children. Please help us gather the 500,000 signatures needed to get this on the Fall ballot by printing the petition form from the website and asking your family, friends and colleagues to sign the petition.
