Dear Friends,
I hope all is well with you, your family, and your friends during this pandemic.
As I’ve stated before, COVID-19 is making clear that our society is divided between those who are privileged and those who aren’t. That’s why our campaign is focused on helping those in need throughout NY-5, because no one should live in fear of getting sick. While we wait for the Federal Government to provide relief to working families, instead of handouts to big business, our campaign is committed to supplying real help on the ground. We are supplying folks with the supplies they need to survive this crisis.
In order to successfully do this though, we need a little help from you.
Since Mid-March, our campaign has shifted to digital organizing. Instead of being able to knock doors and field organize around community aid program, we have been relying on phone calls and community connections to find and help those in need. Although we’ve been successful so far, we want to reach and help as many of our neighbors as possible.
Can you give three hours this week to call others?
Our next phone banking session is tomorrow and I cannot stress how important this one is. Our efforts will be put to the test, as, unfortunately, many of our neighbors will be forced to choose between their bills and their livelihood. Our campaign is a reflection of our values, and we’ll be fighting to make sure no one has to make that impossible decision.
I look forward to you joining us.
Best,
Shaniyat.
