On Thursday, I joined Patti Vasquez with WCPT to discuss a wide array of issues. We talked about my experience at the recent State of the Union and my thoughts on President Biden's performance.
We also discussed my efforts to secure $75 million for Chicago to cover security costs associated with hosting the Democratic National Convention in August. Despite inflation and a rise in political violence, the security funding levels have remained stagnant since 2004. I shared why this additional funding is necessary and how it will be dispersed to ensure maximum safety for guests and city residents.
Finally, we talked about the status of funding for the war in Ukraine. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, I have been an ardent supporter of continued aid and stressed the importance of this war to the future of democracy.
