Presidential Primary Next Tuesday! Go Vote!       DEFENDING KANSAS SAVING AMERICA   DONATE VOLUNTEER The Friday File A Weekly Publication   Trump: Official Presumptive Republican Nominee   President Donald Trump has emerged as the sole contender in the Republican presidential primary field following Nikki Haley's suspension of her campaign post Super Tuesday losses. Although Trump awaits the requisite delegates, the Republican National Committee voted unanimously to name him the "presumptive nominee." Trump invited Haley’s supporters to join his movement. With eyes set on the November rematch against President Joe Biden, Trump is also advocating for an RNC overhaul, favoring Michael Whatley and Lara Trump for leadership roles. Collaborating with the RNC, Trump aims to bolster election integrity and fundraising efforts, capitalizing on their combined prowess seen in the 2020 election cycle. Strategically, Trump's team is gearing up for convention planning, fundraising, and coordinating with Republican state parties and congressional campaign groups for the upcoming general election battle. Per State Statute, any qualified candidate may file or withdraw by the filing deadline, but not after. As a result, all four candidate names listed above will appear on your ballot.   Early voting has begun! Be sure to check with your local County Clerk or Election Commissioner or their website for details about your specific county. The Kansas Legislature went out of its way to appropriate the funding for this special election last year so please take advantage of this unique opportunity. This only the 3rd time ever in Kansas history that we've had a Kansas Presidential Preference Primary. Please go vote! Trump     Kansas Governor Must Sign Tax Package The Kansas Legislature deserves a huge thank you for getting a solid, reasonable, and extremely fair tax package built and moving forward this session. Nothing is easy to get done these days in Topeka, but staunch Republicans made this happen. Those Kansas House and Senate Republicans continue working diligently to get this done with their respective leadership teams with one goal in mind; tax relief for hardworking Kansans. A special thank-you to Kansas State Senator Caryn Tyson, Senate Tax Committee Chair, for her unwavering dedication to this initiative. Bravo! Now, with the Kansas Legislature close to sending the governor a meaningful tax package to sign, there is much chatter she will veto the bill which helps Kansans across all socio-economic classes. There is only one reason for Laura Kelly to take this tact; Governor Kelly is playing politics and prioritizing her political party over the needs of her financially strapped and hurting constituents. And as Tax Day looms, Americans are navigating their state tax burdens, with income tax being just one component. Families face sky-high inflation, a faltering economy, a wide-open southern border leading to a resurgence in disease and illness, public safety compromised, and all o this chaos in an increasingly unstable world. But Kansans know in addition to these high-priority kitchen-table issues, there are significant disparities from state to state in how much taxes are paid. And they are demanding relief now. In 2020, the average American allocated 8.9% of their income to state taxes. Notably, Alaska boasts the lowest overall tax burden at 5.4%, followed by Tennessee, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and Florida. These states, along with others like Delaware and South Dakota, enjoy relatively lighter tax loads. Sadly, Kansas remains the high tax point on the prairie. And Kansans know it is the Democrats who put us here and it is the Democrats who should be working to get Kansas off that list in an election year. The Kansas Republican Party will be reminding voters across Kansas about who sided with their families and businesses. And we will also make it known who sided against them. As taxpayers nationwide assess their tax responsibility, variations in tax structures underscore diverse taxing landscapes across America. And Kansas is mid-pack. Kansas taxpayers need relief. Kansas businesses need relief. Kansas needs savings. Kansas needs tax cuts. I am calling on the Kansas Governor to make this happen. There is no valid reason Kansas is not on the low-tax top 10 list. And I encourage you to make your voice heard by calling Governor Kelly’s Office and tell her to expeditiously sign the tax package the moment it lands on her desk. Kansas Governors Office Laura Kelly, Governor 785-296-3232 #LetsRoll     Kansas K-12 Schools Have No Authority to Subvert Parent's Rights Compulsory attendance laws have long been seen as a cornerstone of education, but the reality is starkly different. By mandating attendance, we're herding innocent children into classrooms where the quality of education often fails to justify the coercion. It's time to acknowledge that compulsory attendance laws do more harm than good. We must empower parents, through legislation, with the freedom to choose the best educational path for their children, whether it be traditional schooling, homeschooling, or alternative approaches. The infiltration of technology in schools raises legitimate concerns about privacy and parental involvement. Rather than restricting children's access to their cellphones, let's address the root issue by reevaluating the role of technology in education where transparency must be always the top concern. Parents must have full visibility into their child's academic progress and activities, without any barriers or hidden agendas. The alarming rise in transgender identification among children demands a closer examination of the educational environment. Teachers should prioritize academic instruction over personal agendas, ensuring that students receive the support they need while respecting parental rights and involvement. It's far past time to dismantle compulsory attendance laws and reassess the role of technology in education. We must prioritize academic excellence and parental involvement to ensure a brighter future for our children. The parents of the students demand it.     Sharice Davids Votes Against Protecting Your Family in Mayorkas Impeachment Sharice Davids, KS CD-3, twice last week voted no on the impeachment of failed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Leading up to and following the first impeachment vote, House Speaker Mike Johnson declined to vote on a bill sent by the U.S. Senate for military aid to Ukraine, citing the absence of provisions for U.S. border security. The political maneuvering forced a bright light on the importance of the U.S./Mexico border and drew criticism from Democratic representative Davids, who accused politicians of playing games. With Republicans eyeing the upcoming elections, the focus on border issues will intensify. A decrease in illegal crossings this January has been noted due to Texas Governor Abbott blocking the border in that state with the help of many other states from across the Union. Assistance of Kansas National Guard on this important matter did not come from Kansas as ultra-liberal and divisive Kansas Governor Laura Kelly ignored the majority of Kansans and sat silent taking no action whatsoever. The impeachment, based on allegations of incompetence, passed narrowly. Senate support for conviction remains uncertain but Kansans encourage their U.S. Senators to support the impeachment of Mayorkas. Border security consistently ranks high on the overall concerns of Kansans and Americans. U.S. Border Security must be a priority shown by our elected officials to maintain the support of Kansas Republicans. In Kansas' 3rd Congressional District, immigration and border security are of critical importance and related issues resonate across political divides. As the campaign unfolds, the border debate will intersect with broader political narratives, shaping the electoral landscape in Kansas CD-3 and beyond. Republicans in CD-3 are encouraged to look into their current member of Congress’s voting record and discover for themselves that we have our very own Nancy Pelosi - right here in Kansas.     Numinar Data Analytics World-Class Platform Offered Free to Kansas Republican Candidates and Campaigns   The Kansas Republican Party has partnered with the amazing folks at Numinar to - again - provide access to the Numinar Data Analytics Platform at no cost to registered Kansas Republicans who simply ask for access. CLICK HERE Send a strong and bold message to ultra-liberal Kansas Governor Laura Kelly to support Texas’ efforts to secure our southern border. Kansas should be supporting the state of Texas’ efforts to secure our southern border since Joe Biden & Company have abdicated their constitutional responsibility. There is nothing controversial about securing and defending our border, but Laura Kelly continues doddering instead of engaging as most Kansans’ would prefer. Every State is a Border State Laura Kelly claims to be “middle of the road,” but that statement doesn't apply to “middle of the border”. Governor Kelly’s silence on this issue is both stunning and shameful. So why is ultra-liberal Kansas Governor Kelly so quiet? That's an excellent question.
