Dear John,

It's been 13 years since the crisis began in Syria. Today, there are still more than 12 million displaced in the region. Thirteen years have left many more facing unimaginable hardship and enduring immense losses.

Outside Syria, over 19 million people – both refugees and from host communities – are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.

“We have lost 13 years of our lives”

Says Zuhur, a Syrian refugee living in Lebanon. Zuhur is among more than 5 million Syrians still living in neighbouring countries: Türkiye, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.

Some of these host countries are facing economic meltdowns. This means that Syrian families across the region continue to slip further into poverty every day.

For the 7 million people who are still displaced inside Syria, it’s been crisis after crisis. Thousands remain outside their homes after the devastating earthquakes that hit northern Syria and southern Türkiye last year.

Help us deliver essential relief to those who need it most. With needs growing and funding decreasing, their ability to cope diminishes with every passing year.

Every contribution makes a difference.

The Syria situation only received 36 per cent of needed funds in 2023. This year, we can change that for families who have been enduring hardship for more than a decade. Stand by them and help us continue to provide vital protection and assistance.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Monia Hassan
