Monday, it was an honor to speak on the House floor and welcome a group of West Coast University students! I’m grateful for West Coast University’s work to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals and the students' dedication to providing care to North Texans.
Tuesday, I joined my Ways and Means colleagues for a hands-on demonstration where I explored new technologies in healthcare that could improve access to care at home. I enjoyed chatting with a North Texan from Outset and a patient using Novocure who provided a demonstration and testimony about the life changing power of this new technology.
Then, I held a Small Business Oversight Subcommittee hearing to highlight how overregulation is preventing small businesses from accessing capital. I was glad to learn more about how our job creators utilize private financing to find success despite the Biden administration's destructive regulatory environment. You can watch my opening remarks by clicking on the photo below or read more about this hearing in the Work of the Week section.
I joined my Ways and Means colleagues to continue our work to enhance access to care at home in rural and underserved communities. From telehealth to new technologies, millions of Americans benefit from being able to choose health at home. You can watch my remarks by clicking here.
Later, it was great to see Calvary Lutheran School! I always enjoy getting to chat with bright students from North Texas when they visit D.C., and I encourage all Texas-24 residents to contact our office for assistance with tours.
Wednesday, I was honored to preside as the House voted to protect our citizens from the Chinese Communist Party's attempts to surveil Americans and undermine our national security. Joining my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in voting for H.R. 7521, I'm hopeful for its swift passage in the Senate to stop China's strategic military tool which spies on Americans and purposefully promotes lies and disinformation.
I had the opportunity to honor our Texas-24 Hometown Hero, Susan Gillingham, on the House floor. You can watch my remarks celebrating Susan by clicking the photo below or read more in the Hometown Hero section. | I enjoyed meeting with Texas principals from the National Association of Elementary School Principals. It was great to see Cooper Hilton, the principal at Wilson Elementary in Coppell, and get to film a video message for the Wilson Rangers. I appreciate what our educators do for our kids.
Then, I met with folks from Irving who were in D.C. with the National League of Cities. As a former mayor, I appreciate their work to advocate for critical infrastructure which strengthens our communities.

Texas-24 Work of the Week
This week, I held a Small Business oversight subcommittee hearing to push back on the Biden administration’s damaging regulatory environment. I’m working to empower small businesses to succeed in the face of excessive government regulation.
This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Susan Gillingham, a Baylor Scott and White Grapevine nurse celebrating 50 years of saving lives. Her incredible career has touched many lives and she continues to provide care for North Texans after five decades! I’m grateful for her selfless dedication to our community and congratulate her on her incredible career.
