Candidate filing closed at noon today! We now officially have Democratic candidates running all across South Carolina - some in primaries and most are headed directly to the November General Election.

465 Democrats are running for office up and down the ballot, giving us the largest class of Democrats in nearly 2 decades. 50 Democratic candidates filed to run for the State Senate, giving us the best chance to win a Democratic Majority for the first time in over two decades. Not to mention largest number of women to run for office in the history of SC.

Now starts the hard work. These candidates are going to need your full support in the next few months. Contributions will help them of course, but because of COVID-19 our strategy for organizing and voter outreach is going to look a lot different than it ever has before. We are going to be counting on you to attend virtual meetings, virtual text banks, and virtual phonebanks. My hope is that with everybody safe inside their homes, Democratic organizing will be able to offer people a sense of camaraderie and community that we all need so much right now.

My number one priority is to make sure these candidates have all the resources they need to give Republicans a hell of a fight this fall, from municipal offices all the way up to Jamie Harrison, our next Senator from South Carolina.

Like I said, we are going to need you this November to help support our candidates, but I know there is no better team in this country than our South Carolina Democrats. So if you can today, I would appreciate if you could help support your Democratic party, even if it is only $10, every cent helps these candidates get ready for the fight.
