Kansas Medicaid Grievance, Appeals, and State Fair Hearings Instructor: Dorothy Noblit, Fair Hearings Manager 1. The process of initiating a Grievance, Appeal or State Fair Hearing request. 2. The basic requirements and timelines for requests. 3. The responsibilities of the MCOs, the State of Kansas, providers and members related to requests. 4. Changes implemented in 2018 that impacted a member?s course of action. Medicaid Fraud Instructors: Steve Anderson, Medicaid Inspector General and Kiel Kearney, Auditor 1. Participants will understand the history of the Medicaid Inspector General?s office, its statutory basis for existing, and its duties. 2. Participants will understand what Medicaid fraud is and how to identify it. 3. Participants will understand how Medicaid fraud audits are developed. 4. Participants will understand the basic income levels set for the elderly and individuals with disabilities to achieve Medicaid eligibility. 5. Participants will understand the concepts of Protected Income Limit (PIL), spenddown, and patient liability. 6.
