This is especially important right now because our opponent David Valadao is quietly surging. He's enjoyed months of strong fundraising hauls thanks to his corporate PAC allies, Rep. Kevin McCarthy, and Rep. Devin Nunes. Because of that, elections experts have shifted our race outlook from "Leans Democrat" to "Tossup."

We need to use this deadline as an opportunity to convey grassroots strength. That's how we defeated Valadao last time. Despite everything going on, it's an effort we'll need to repeat to hold this seat:

Things may have changed in regard to how we'll run our campaign, but nothing has changed about what our movement represents.

This is still about protecting our health care from the Republicans' attacks. It's about taking concrete steps to combat climate change. And this is still about doing everything we can to advance immigration reform to protect DREAMers and migrant farmworkers from senseless deportations by Trump and his allies.

And I'm still rejecting all corporate PAC money because I'm working for Central Valley families -- not the special interests in Washington or on Wall Street.
