This week, Omaha police are on high alert because of a “large increase” in illicit drugs trafficked by Mexican cartels -- 1,500 miles away from the southern border.
But that’s nothing new -- it’s just getting worse every day the Biden Border Crisis continues.
Friend, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Omaha office reports that methamphetamine seizures “reached a five-year high in 2023 and have been steadily increasing in recent years. The DEA seized 260 pounds of meth in 2019, 580 pounds in 2021, and nearly 1,100 pounds in 2023” -- and that’s just in Nebraska.
But it gets much worse. From October through April of 2022-2023, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol personnel seized over 17,000 pounds of fentanyl at the southern border -- enough to kill the entire population of the United States eleven times over.
Friend, the failure to secure the border is hurting communities across the country.
