Oklahoma effectively banned abortion care. We're taking them to court to stop it. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Team—

Today, we challenged an Oklahoma order effectively banning abortion care in the state on behalf of Trust Women Oklahoma City and other abortion providers in the state. Along with our partners at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Dechert LLP, we're challenging an order issued by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt on March 24 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that requires all "elective" medical and surgical procedures be postponed. Just a few days later, the Governor issued a statement singling out abortion care, claiming the order prohibited almost ALL abortions in the state.

We will use every legal tool necessary to ensure that abortion remains accessible during this pandemic. Please make an emergency gift right now to help us fight back.

This shameful abuse of emergency powers to ban abortion care is dangerous and unconstitutional.

To anti-abortion politicians, this pandemic is just another tool in their toolbox to deny access to abortion—and we must stop them. Can we count on you to help fight these unconscionable attacks? Please make an urgent gift today to protect abortion access.

In solidarity,

Center for Reproductive Rights

*** URGENT ***

Just now, we, along with our partners at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Lawyering Project, sued Governor Greg Abbott and other state officials on behalf of a group of Texas abortion providers to ensure that patients can continue to access essential, time-sensitive abortion services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While doctors and nurses in Texas work around the clock to care for patients suffering from COVID-19, Governor Abbott is interfering with the personal medical decisions of Texans by using this pandemic to advance his political, anti-abortion agenda.

We must put a stop to this. Please make an emergency gift to help us protect abortion access in Texas and beyond.

It's unconscionable that Texas is exploiting this pandemic and abusing the state's emergency powers to end abortion access in the state. We filed suit today to stop it. Abortion care is essential and time-sensitive health care that has a profound impact on a person’s health and life, which is why it is protected as a constitutional right. Already, abortion providers in the state have had to turn away dozens of patients seeking critical medical services.

We are prepared to take whatever legal action necessary to ensure abortion remains accessible in the U.S. during this public health crisis. Will you make a generous gift RIGHT NOW to ensure we have the resources to fight back against attacks like this one?

Thank you for your support,
