John,

To say it is a difficult time is an understatement. We are in uncharted territory. Every day brings new challenges as we try to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. This new reality has forced us to dramatically change the way we operate including rescheduling our annual luncheon fundraiser, originally planned for today.

The Alliance is a lean nonprofit and we rely on our signature fundraising event for nearly half of our operating budget. We have no doubt that not allowing events like ours is the right thing to do, but it has put us, like many organizations, in an incredibly difficult position.

The good news is, we have reached out to our top supporters and a generous donor has agreed to MATCH all gifts up to $10,000 to help us keep operating until we’re able to hold our luncheon. Can you give $10 -- to make a $20 impact -- today to help us stay afloat?

We know we are not the only ones who need support right now. But we also know that senseless gun violence is not going to take a break for coronavirus. Our new reality significantly heightens the risk for suicide, domestic violence, and unintentional shootings.

We can’t stop working to implement gun safety laws and make sure the public knows about lifesaving gun violence prevention tools. But we need your help. Please, give whatever you can today to take advantage of the match and help us keep our communities safe from the terror of gun violence.

Thank you,
Renée
