I’m heartbroken. I’m furious. And I’m asking for your immediate signature. Americans shouldn't die while common sense gun legislation sits on Mitch McConnell's desk. Sign your name next to mine and demand he act NOW by cutting the Senate’s vacation short. Senators must return to Washington to pass this urgent legislation. >>
 
I’m sick to my stomach.
 
A gunman opened fire on my community this past weekend.
 
I realized that my family’s lives could be put in danger while we go back-to-school shopping.
 
I’m heartbroken that -- in El Paso, and in Dayton, and in Chicago -- this was the reality for so many families.
 
And I’m heartbroken that, in too many communities, this is the reality every day.
 
But I’m also pissed off.
 
Because while Donald Trump fans the flames of hate and division…
 
While white nationalism festers like a toxic brew across this country…
 
While Americans are dying from preventable gun violence...
 
Common sense gun reform that could have stopped it is sitting on Mitch McConnell’s desk.
 
 
We are fighting both a serious gun violence epidemic, as well as a rise of white nationalism.
 
Thoughts and prayers are the only solutions Republicans have to offer.
 
But I’m completely out of thoughts and prayers.
 
It’s now up to us to rise up and address both of these crises with the urgency this moment demands.
