Dear John,
You may have seen or heard about a Netflix series called “Tiger King” that focuses on convicted murder-for-hire felon, Joe Exotic, who ran a notorious roadside zoo and also bred and sold tiger cubs for profit. This series has raised a lot of questions about big cat protection — and as the animal law experts: we have the answers.

There are currently more tigers living in captivity in the United States than there are left in the wild – most living in conditions that are, at best inadequate, and at worst horrific. Sadly, in many states, it is perfectly legal to purchase and keep a tiger in your home or backyard. Tiger cubs are being bred and exploited at an alarming rate to fuel the cruel cub petting industry.
Join Legislative Affairs Manager Alicia Prygoski tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31 from 12-1 pm PST to learn more about the current laws governing private ownership of big cats, as well as pending legislation that may help better protect them. We will also feature our successful litigation to shut down roadside zoos, like the ones featured in Tiger King, and assure existing laws are enforced.
