Donald Trump’s Republican National Committee (RNC) shakeup has begun, and the first step was electing election denier Michael Wheatley as national chairman.
Whatley, who chairs the North Carolina GOP, has echoed Trump’s false theories of voter fraud, promised to “expand efforts to deploy poll watchers, workers, and judges as real-time monitors on election night moving forward.”
Make no mistake, John: with Whatley now leading the RNC, efforts to disrupt democracy will have the full support of the party.

As Trump closes in on his third presidential nomination, he’s already changing the party back to a far-right MAGA default. His hand-picked, newly installed leadership team began the process of pushing out dozens of officials that weren’t extremist enough, with an expected 60 more RNC staff to go.
With a gutted RNC, we can expect a mass influx of MAGA radicals to refill the team. And you can’t really be a true Trump loyalist without believing and spreading his false claims of election fraud.
