Daily Docket — Thursday, March 14

Here are some recent updates.

  • The League of Women Voters sued the parties behind a robocall scheme that used AI to impersonate President Biden and urged Democrats not to vote in New Hampshire's presidential primary. The lawsuit alleges that the robocalls violated a portion of the Voting Rights Act.

  • Republican voters and a county council member filed a lawsuit against Allegheny County challenging plans to have ballot drop off locations during elections this year. The lawsuit claims officials failed to follow proper protocol to approve the drop off locations.

  • North Carolina Republicans appealed a recent court decision striking down law transferring the ability to appoint members to the state board of elections from Gov. Roy Cooper (D) to the GOP-controlled legislature, ruling the law "infringes upon the Governor’s constitutional duties."

  • In honor of Women’s History Month, Democracy Docket spoke with women who are leading the legal and political fight for voting rights across the country about their work and what inspires them. Here are the biggest lessons we learned.

Here’s what’s coming up tomorrow.
