It's a stark reminder of why having Democratic leaders at the helm is crucial to protecting our public education system.

Roy and Andy are the only two Democratic governors in the South, representing a beacon of progressive values. As chairs of the North Carolina and Kentucky Democratic Parties, we know the importance of electing Democrats to safeguard the future of our states. Kentucky legislators are attempting to amend the constitution to divert taxpayer money from public schools to private institutions. Sixty percent of our counties don’t even have certified private schools, meaning this move would take taxpayer dollars straight from public schools in rural parts of the state to private schools in the biggest cities. 

And in North Carolina, the Republican legislature is pushing a radical voucher plan that lacks income limits, accountability, and safeguards. This scheme could cost the state a staggering $4 billion over the next decade – funds desperately needed to support our public schools fully.

Public education is under attack nationwide, and our Democratic governors serve as the last line of defense in safeguarding our schools. By splitting a contribution between the Democratic Parties in Kentucky and North Carolina, you're directly contributing to the fight to elect Democrats in the South who champion public education.
