BY CJ SPENCER | In the last decade, the Convention of State Action (COSA) has become the fastest-growing Article V movement.

COSA advocates are pushing for Congress to call a convention to ratify a number of constitutional amendments which threaten the fabric of our democracy. If states have immediate standing to challenge the constitutionality of any enactments by Congress and the executive branch, the lives of women would be at risk.

BY EMILIA DOMINGUEZ | Members of Kentucky Physicians for Reproductive Freedom, a group representing over 280 healthcare providers, delivered an open letter late last month demanding the repeal of their state abortion ban and decrying the devastating impact the ban is having on their patients. Citing “Do No Harm,” the primary vow of healthcare providers to care for their patients, the physicians spoke out against abortion bans.

The Dobbs decision triggered Kentucky’s law that completely banned abortion in the state except in very limited circumstances, and through which healthcare providers who violate these restrictions could face civil and criminal penalties. Although in late 2022, Kentucky voters rejected an amendment to the state constitution that would have stated that the constitution does not protect abortion rights, Kentucky’s abortion ban has remained in place with devastating consequences for those receiving and providing essential reproductive healthcare in the state.

Writer, activist and organizer adrienne maree brown believes deeply that the only reason we can continue to resist oppressive structures, and the only reason to resist oppressive structures is to experience the fullness of pleasure in our lives. Pleasure can be hard to come by, specifically if you live with a marginalized identity, are disconnected from your body, or have experienced a weaponization of pleasure. But adrienne says that especially then, pleasure is important to fight for and access. Today we’re digging in with adrienne as she takes on the task of proving to all of us that finding pleasure is worth it.
