John,
I am reaching out about alarming edits to West Point’s mission statement. The words “duty, honor, country” were replaced with “Army values.” I never thought that I would see West Point water down patriotic language.
Here are the two versions of their mission statement. I want to know which one you like better.
Original: To educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, and Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.
Revised: To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to the Army Values and ready for a lifetime of professional excellence and service to the Army and Nation.

Let me know what you think as soon as you can, John.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Mike Pence
