New Lifeway Research Polling Shows Increased Evangelical Support for Immigration Ahead of Election Season -  This year, 78% of evangelicals support policies that pair improvements to border security with an earned path to citizenship for individuals in the country unlawfully. Sixty-five percent report that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supports these priorities in this election cycle, while just 12% would be less likely to support a candidate who supported these positions. Along with broadening support for immigration reform, evangelicals are increasingly viewing the Bible as the most important influence on their thinking on immigration, with 4 out of 5 indicating that they would like to hear a biblically-focused sermon on immigration from the pulpit.

Reaction to President Biden's Expected Attempt to Misinform about Texas' Pro-Life Laws in His State of the Union Address - In June 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, and Texas abortion laws protecting unborn babies beginning at conception. Data from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission show that reported elective abortions have plummeted from thousands per month to zero. And, from Dobbs through October 2023, doctors performed 71 abortions under the medical-necessity exception all in hospitals. There is no evidence that any doctor has been prosecuted by a district attorney or sanctioned by the Texas Medical Board.
