Dear John,
Our planet faces a daily flood of plastic pollution, with shocking amounts entering our environment. Over a dump truck of trash flows into our oceans every minute, posing severe threats to our communities, health, and environment.
Federal action is urgently needed to tackle this crisis, and bipartisan legislation is crucial. We must enact strong policies to transform how we produce, recycle, and dispose of plastic to mitigate its harmful impacts.
Recently, 61 dedicated WWF activists and staff met with members of Congress to advocate for robust plastic pollution policies. Just one week later, the Senate passed two vital bipartisan bills our activists requested action on—a significant stride towards keeping plastics out of our oceans, rivers, landfills, and bodies. |

WWF activists and supporters take to Capitol Hill to meet with their Congressional representatives in support of strong policies to curb plastic pollution. |

The Recycling and Composting Accountability Act (RCAA) would enhance recycling data collection and establish a national composting strategy, while the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act (RIAA) would create an EPA pilot program for recycling projects in rural and underserved areas.
Now, our attention turns to the House to pass these bills. Will you join us in urging your Representative to prioritize solutions for a cleaner, healthier future? Your voice counts, and together, we can make a real difference. |

Sincerely,
Sara Thomas WWF Action Team
